AA Gill: My brother told me he was going to disappear

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

AA Gill, the writer and critic, has spoken about the time his younger brother told him he was going to disappear. In an interview about his memoir Pour Me A Life, AA Gill said of his brother Nick, "He just came to me one day and said I'm, I'm going to disappear. I said, 'well don't, you know, give us a ring, let us know where you are' and I gave him a couple of quid and a coat and that was the last anyone, any of us ever heard of him". AA Gill told 麻豆社 Radio 5 live's Afternoon Edition: "You know my Dad died not knowing what had happened to one of his children. My Mum still talks about him and I still, I still think what he's doing now? [...] It's a mixture of missing him and being furious with him". This clip is originally from 5 live Afternoon Edition on 2 December 2015.
