Mona Lisa - the mystery deepens

Newsday

Available for over a year

Three images exist beneath the portrait of the famous Mona Lisa, by Leonardo da Vinci, according to French scientist Pascal Cotte. Using special reflective light technology, he says he's found earlier paintings hidden beneath the celebrated artwork. The news has divided art historians, even leading some to ask: Is she really the Mona Lisa we know and love, or an anonymous lady? Â鶹Éç journalist Roya Nikkhah takes up the story, in conversation with Lawrence Pollard. (Photo: Pascal Cotte) (Credit: Brinkworth Films)
