There's a secret world of global 'roads to nowhere' - hidden independent nations, with their own populations, governments - and even football leagues. In fact, you've probably visited one without realizing. Travel writer and geographer Nick Middleton's new book (an Atlas of Countries That Don't Exist) looks at the countries missing from the vast majority of books and maps. And although some of their names might seem fantastical - Atlantium, Christiania, and Elgaland-Vargaland - they are all real places, occupied by fervently patriotic citizens. Weekend's Paul Henley has been speaking to Nick. (Photo: Nick Middleton in Greenland. Credit: Courtesy of Nick Middleton).
