The sound of US interest rates

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Neal Razell from the World Service's On Background programme has created an "audiograph" to illustrate changing rates over the past 60 years. It uses sounds to convey numbers. The US central bank, the Federal Reserve, is widely expected to increase rates for the first time in nearly a decade. This clip was broadcast on Wake up to Money on Wednesday December 16.
