Suad Bushnaq is not Syrian - although her mother was born there - but she lived there for four years and the country has had a profound impact on her life and on the music she composes. One of her compositions even features strings recorded in Damascus during the war. Picture of Suad Bushnaq in Montreal (Credit: Cham Chahda)
