'Weeks' to save thousands from starvation in Syrian town

Newsday

Available for over a year

Reports from Syria say up to 40,000 civilians are starving to death in the besieged town of Madaya, near the Lebanese border. It's been under siege for months by government forces and their ally in Lebanon, the Hezbollah. Syrian-American doctor Ammar Ghanem grew up in the Madaya area and still has family stuck inside.
