The “super recognisers” tracking down Cologne attackers

Newsday

Available for over a year

As Cologne prepares to celebrate carnival, police are still trying to track down hundreds of men responsible for attacking women in the city on Mew Years Eve. Trawling the grainy CCTV footage is a crack team of "super recognisers" with an extraordinary and rare ability to recognise faces. Nuala McGovern joined chief investigator Tom Schulter to find out what they can see, that most of us can't. (Photo: Crowds assemble outside the main station in Cologne on New Years Eve. Credit: AFP)
