With the NHS under increasing pressure, community healthcare professionals across Leicestershire and Rutland have a busy workload. But did you know that volunteer Parish nurses can help support the work of the NHS? There are just a handful of them in our area - registered nurses who can offer home visits, support for carers, appointment booking and unlike community nurses, they can organise prayers for patients who can't get to their place of worship. Jo Hayward joined Parish Nurse Vera Harding on her rounds in North West Leicestershire.
