Why is there a racial divide in the natural environment?

The World Tonight

Available for over a year

According to a new report by Natural England, 12% of English children didn't visit any natural environment - including an urban park - in the last twelve months. And there was a racial divide, too: 56% per cent of children from ethnic minority households were frequent visitors to natural environments - compared to 75% of their white peers. David Lindo, who grew up in inner-city London, is a rare species – a black ornithologist. He calls himself the Urban Birder.
