Rising to the challenges of sustainability, a rising population and inequality. A quarter of a century there were fears the world would run out of oil by 2000. However although it is a finite resource new discoveries have been made. Many predictions of disaster have not come to fruition but the issue of sustainability remains and many of the world's population still live in absolute poverty.
