Peat bogs are releasing more disolved organic carbon into rivers in a cycle caused by rising carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. The worst plague of locust in north and west Africa is being fought with traditional pesticides and also a new locust-specific Green Muscle bio-pesticide made from the green muscadine fungus.
