Motorbike taxis, one of the popular transport means, has been banned in the centre of Bujumbura due to security concerns. The decision was prompted by a series of grenade attacks. The latest, on Monday, killed at least one person and injured more than 30. Burundi descended back into political and security turmoil since last April when the country's president took a controversial decision to run for a third term in office prompting violent protests. This latest decision falls within efforts to address the situation. However, the new measures haven't gone down well with motorbike owners, drivers and users.
