One hit wonder: To Kill a Mockingbird

PM

Available for over a year

The author of To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee, has died. Published in 1960, it became a modern classic: and subsequently a much loved film, but the author declined the limelight. It was only last year that another Harper Lee book appeared, Go Set A Watchman - amid controversy about its release and its content. 麻豆社 books editor Jim Naughtie spoke to PM presenter Eddie Mair about the impact Harper Lee's first and only book had decades before she wrote her second book: "Here we have celebrated author, Pulitzer prize, Presidential Medal of Freedom, celebrated around the world. One solitary book. It's quite remarkable."
