The Russian composer and pianist Sergei Prokofiev is one of the acknowledged masters of twentieth century classical music. But for the past decade or so, another Prokofiev, the composer's London-based grandson, Gabriel, has been pioneering the search for classical music's place in the twenty-first century, bringing it to a wider audience through concerts in pubs and clubs and with genre-defying compositions. His latest work, which premieres in London in April, is a concerto for "trumpet, percussion, turntables and orchestra". (Photo: Gabriel Prokofiev at turntable Credit: Gabriel Prokofiev)
