Post-apartheid drama from South Africa

Weekend

Available for over a year

South Africa's president recently condemned violence during recent student protests calling for the removal of Afrikaans as a teaching language. A new play opening this week at London's Royal Court Theatre is set in post-apartheid South Africa and deals with issues of identity and language. The play is called "I See You", it's written by young South African playwright Mongiwekhaya and is based on a real encounter he had with South African police. Weekend's Ben James asked Mongiwekhaya about the title and who's seeing who? (Picture: Scene from the play "I See You", London's Royal Court Theatre. Credit: Johan Persson)
