They were once described as the 'gondola of London', and at its height, there were thousands of them on our streets. Yes, we're talking about the Hansom Cab- one of the world's best known horse-drawn carriages which was developed here in Leicestershire. Naturally, technology moved on and the use of the cab dwindled- until there were no more trotting around. But now there are plans for one to return to its birthplace in Hinckley. Jim & Jo were joined this morning by Greg Droizdz, the Vice-Chair of Hinckley and District Museum and Adrian Lander, the man who helped restore the Hansom Cab which is returning to the town. Greg told us a little abut the history of the cab.
