Can vitamin B3 slow ageing?

Newsday

Available for over a year

Our body makes or absorbs antioxidants to fight off the crippling effect of damaged cells. Literally, we all need antioxidants to avoid getting rusty. Well, scientists say they've found a way to boost the antioxidants levels in cells. Interestingly, the experiment has extended the lifespan of mice. And the possible human version of the same process is vitamin B3, which is found in meat like tuna, chicken and pork. Manuel Serrano of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre is one the lead scientists in this research. (Caption: An elderly person sits in a chair at home in England.
