The voice of Lady Penelope

Newsday

Available for over a year

Sylvia Anderson, the co-creator of Thunderbirds, has died at the age of 88. She was the voice behind one of the television programme's most enduring characters -- the elegant secret agent, Lady Penelope. The puppet itself was modelled on Sylvia Anderson -- who also designed Lady Penelope's iconic clothes. Following the success of Thunderbirds, and other programmes such as Captain Scarlet and Stingray, Sylvia Anderson worked as a film and television producer. This is Sylvia talking to the Â鶹Éç World Service. (Picture - Sylvia Anderson with the puppet of Lady Penelope. Credit PA)
