Sierra Leone is one of the most corrupt countries in the world, according to Transparency International. Many public institutions are riddled with cronyism, and bribery is widespread. The health sector isn't immune. Sierra Leone's anti-corruption commission cited incidents of health workers asking mothers for money for drugs which should be free.
