Ian St John has paid tribute to Johan Cruyff - remembering the night the Dutch footballer helped Ajax thrash Bill Shankly's great Liverpool side 5-1 in a European Cup tie in 1966. Speaking to 5 live after Cruyff's death from cancer aged 68, St John said: "They were a special team with special players. We didn't quite understand their style of play." St John remembered how he relied on a friend working in Holland for information about the Ajax team: "He said they've got some fantastic players and Cruyff was the one that he was telling us all about. He was the only guy who gave us any information. In today's world, you'd have videos and you'd be scrutinising them. We didn't know them." This clip is originally from Adrian Goldberg on 5 live on Thursday 24 March 2016.
