Unlock my dead son's iPhone

Newsday

Available for over a year

Leonardo Fabretti's son, Dama, who was adopted from Ethiopia in 2007, was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2013 after a skiing accident. He died, after a series of operations and chemotherapy sessions failed to cure him, last September. He was 13. Leonardo would like to access the photos and memories of the last two months of his son's life but Apple say they can't do it. It's part of the wider privacy vs security debate that has involved the FBI's request to Apple to hack into Syed Farook's phone after he and his wife carried out a deadly attack in San Bernadino. But this grieving father just wants Apple to allow him to access more memories of his son. (Pic: Leonardo Fabretti and his son, Dama. Credit: AFP)
