Almost two-and-a-half billion people lack access to an adequate toilet, and around one billion have no sanitation facilities whatsoever. Poor sanitation kills a child under five every 100 seconds. Anthropologist and broadcaster Mary-Ann Ochota visits India to understand the challenges involved in stopping 600 million people relieving themselves outdoors. She speaks to some locals who have developed a bold method of stopping open defecation. First broadcast on A Dirty Secret, 4 April 2016.
