World at One

Available for over a year

President Obama has arrived in Saudi Arabia for a visit aimed at easing tensions between the US and its ally. The two countries are at loggerheads over America's nuclear deal with Iran and the Saudis' approach towards the Islamic State group. The US Congress is also considering a bill that could potentially allow the Saudi government to be prosecuted in American courts over the 11 September attacks. Daniel Benjamin was Hillary Clinton's adviser on counter-terrorism at the US State Department. He told Martha Kearney relations had been strained for some time.
