Across the UK, for the first time in 15 years, we're recycling less waste than we did. Confusion over which rubbish goes where is part of the problem and it isn't helped by the fact that every council has its own recycling rules. We go to Hull to hear how residents reacted when the council confiscated 2,000 bins from people who weren't sorting their rubbish properly and look at what is causing councils across the country to act in this way. First broadcast on You & Yours, 21 April 2016.
