Kenya's female ex-prisoners: The challenge of life on the outside
Focus on AfricaAvailable for over a year
One of the biggest challenges many former prisoners in Kenya face is stigma. Life for female ex-inmates is almost as unbearable outside jail as behind bars, with many finding it difficult to get a job or integrate back into society. Worse still, some family members turn their backs on them. Doreen Katwai of Q-TV Kenya hears some of the experiences of those incarcerated in Langata women's prison in Nairobi. (Photo: Â鶹Éç)
