‘It’ll be difficult for Khan to walk away’ Malignaggi

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Former world champion Paulie Malignaggi says Amir Khan's decision over his future is his alone after the British fighter was beaten by Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in their WBC middleweight title contest in Las Vegas. Khan was knocked out in the sixth round in Las Vegas to suffer the fourth defeat of his career at the age of 29. ‘It’s so difficult to walk away when you’re a competitor,' said Malignaggi. 'People who care about you always want you to stop but you live one time and you’re on this competitive level for such a short time you want to maximise it as much as possible. ‘It’s not just about the money, it’s about living and making memories in your life and that’s what Amir is doing. It’s very difficult to tell him to stop making memories. He’s a grown man and it’ll come down to his decision making,' he added. This clip is from 5 live Sport, Sunday 8 May 2016.
