Girls born this year will be 75% more likely to go to university than their male classmates, according to a study. There are already fewer men than women at university and more drop out before graduation. Nick Hillman is director of the Higher Education Policy Institute, the thinktank behind the research. He said "Boys don't work hard enough in school, they don't read for enjoyment, they don't do their homework and they turn up to school later." He said careers that women have traditionally entered - like nursing and teaching - now require a degree, so there's been a "big growth" in women going to university.
