According to a new study the emotional upheaval of a midlife crisis can make us more curious about the world and better able to cope with it's problems. Dr Oliver Robinson, Senior lecturer in Psychology at the University of Greenwich, who led the research, said 鈥渃ompared with people who aren鈥檛 in crisis they are more curious about everything - it is almost like a peaked curiosity period, which must surely be a good thing鈥. This curiosity can lead to people doing things that they always wanted to do and become more in tune with the world around them. To turn a mid-life crisis into a positive, Dr Robinson says you should 鈥渞emind yourself what used to fascinate and interest you when you were younger and do them now鈥.
