Newsday

Available for over a year

Harvard graduate Donovan Livingston has gone viral after a speech he made was posted on line. He performed a spoken-word poem which describes the difficulties that have historically faced black Americans seeking an education - and in it praised the 7th Grade teacher, Ms Parker, who inspired him. The performance has been viewed more than 10 million times. Newsday played some of the speech and spoke to Donovan about the woman who first believed in his potential - and brought them together for the first time in more than a decade.
