My grandmother's stories of Armenia's darkest days

Newsday

Available for over a year

The German Parliament has voted to declare that the mass killing of Armenians, by Ottoman Turkish forces, during the First World War was genocide. There has been a furious reaction in Turkey, where the Foreign Ministry in Ankara called it a disgrace. Barbara Bogosian grew up in the United States, with her grandmother who had escaped the mass killings during the war. As she got older, she learnt about those dark days from the stories her grandmother told.
