Hunger in Iraq's Fallujah

Newsday

Available for over a year

The situation in Fallujah is getting more and more desperate as the Iraqi army has been trying to regain control of the town from militants who are fighting for the so-called Islamic State. Hundreds of families are reportedly still stranded in the region. Zahra is one of the women who managed to escape a few days ago. This is what she told the humanitarian organisation, Norwegian Refugee Council. ( Picture: An Iraqi woman at a camp for displaced people south of Fallujah. Credit: Sabah Arar/AFP/Getty Images)
