Brexit: The view from Germany

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Germany's government of Chancellor Angela Merkel is led by a pro-EU party that has tried to steer Europe through the debt crisis in Greece, Ireland, Portugal and others. It is trying to keep the EU together, and has been clear it doesn't want to see the UK leave. Rob Young has been talking to Jurgen Hardt, a senior MP in Angela Merkel's Christian Democratic Union party, and asked if Britain votes to leave the EU, whether Germany would offer the UK some sweeteners, a new deal, to stay. And Alex Ritson sought a response from the pro-Brexit economist, Roger Bootle. (Picture: The Brandenburg Gate, Berlin. Picture credit: Getty Images.)
