The winner of this year's Caine Prize for African Writing will be announced next week. Kenyan-Somali writer Abdul Adan is among the five shortlisted authors. His short story, The Lifebloom Gift, is set in America and reflects on the magical powers of a character called Ted Lifebloom. The Âé¶¹Éç's Solomon Mugera reads an excerpt.
