5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Many schools are closed today because of a strike by members of the National Union of Teachers causing disruption to thousands of parents and pupils. Sally, a Maths teacher in Greater Manchester feels that by striking she is "teaching the next generation to say no". Kate Ivens, from the Campaign for Real Education, believes it is "unprofessional" to strike and teachers should "behave in a way that makes them valued". This clip is originally from 5 live Breakfast on July 5 2016.
