Professional musicians Kay and Rachel met in church twenty years ago. Kay is a cellist, Rachel is a violinist. Their lives have become intertwined, not least because they’ve spent time teaching their respective instruments to each other’s children. Kay now runs a successful music teaching business. Rachel has been working at a music school in Uganda and, together with another musician friend, they also run the Horsham Performers Platform. These two friends have been there for each other over the years. In 2011 Rachel’s husband Hugo took his own life after a period of depression. In this part of their chat, they reflect back on what has brought them closer together.
