The race to save lives in South Sudan

Newsday

Available for over a year

Tens of thousands have fled the fighting in South Sudan between the supporters of the President Salva Kiir and his long time rival, Riek Machar. Those who are unable to leave are facing hunger and disease. The UN says the funding is inadequate for those in need and in a country where half the population is under 18, education is being sacrificed. Newsday's Julian Keane heard from the UNHCR's Teresa Ongaro how critical the situation is.
