The government in Canada is to launch a national inquiry into what appears to be the disproportionately high rate of killings and disappearances of indigenous women and girls. In the past thirty years, there have been more than a thousand cases - many still unresolved . Although indigenous women represent 4% of Canada's population, they account for 16% of murder victims. Sandra Gagnon has lost two sisters in separate murders. She began by speaking to Newsday about one of her sisters, Janet Henry. (Photo: Sandra with a photo of her sister Janet. Credit: AFP/Getty)
