The battery you can eat

Newsday

Available for over a year

Researchers have been displaying new edible power sources for ingestible electronic devices which could help diagnose or treat diseases. They would be made of natural substances found in our hair, skin and eyes. Professor Christopher Bettinger from Carnegie Mellon University, who's eaten one of these batteries, told Newsday's Alan Kasujja how they work.
