5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

An Italian man has described how he has ‘lost everything’ after yesterday’s 6.2 magnitude quake which hit 100km North East of Rome. The town of Amatrice has been reduced to rubble, and hundreds of aftershocks have slowed rescue operations. Arben, who lives in the town, told 5 live: “We have lost my niece; my sister’s daughter is dead. They brought out the body from the house yesterday morning, and my wife is in hospital. The death toll from the quake has risen to nearly 250, with the Italian Red Cross continuing the search for those that remain missing. When asked what he will do now, Arben said: “We will see; I had a shop, I am an antiques dealer – I have lost everything. This clip is originally from 5 live Drive on Thursday 25 August 2016.
