Country music has given music some of the greatest singers-songwriters in history - Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Loretta Lyn, to name but a few. However, if you listen to country radio in the US today you would think there were only a handful of strong female artists around. Jenni Murray speaks to Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas, who make up the UK country duo Ward Thomas, and Beverly Keel, former Nashville Music Executive and co-founder of Change the Conversation. First broadcast on Woman's Hour, 1 September 2016.
