What makes an Oscar-winning Disney song?

Outlook

Available for over a year

Song-writer and composer Richard M. Sherman worked with his brother Robert on turning the Mary Poppins stories into a musical. They created some of Disney’s most memorable songs - including Feed the Birds which was Walt Disney's own personal favourite - and won two Oscars in 1965 for their efforts. Richard talks to Outlook's Maryam Maruf about the many challenges he faced - not least persuading author PL Travers to assent to the screen transformation of her beloved Mary... Image: Richard M.
