Freddie Mercury is finally 'leaping through the sky'

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

To mark what would have been his 70th birthday, Freddie Mercury has had a star named after him. Queen guitarist Brian May says it will now be known as Asteroid 17473 Freddiemercury. It was discovered in 1991 - the year the singer died. Wayne D. Plant from the International Queen Fan Club says this means Mercury is finally "leaping through the sky". Plant, a music teacher, says his school pupils "love" Queen and always want to play Queen's 'We Will Rock You'. This clip is originally from Phil Williams on Monday September 5th 2016.
