A special Bake Off Officer for Morrisons watches the Great British Bake Off so the supermarket can plan what ingredients it buys. Anastasia Duncanson takes notes and monitors online reaction to see which recipes are popular and which ingredients may be needed in store the following week. Unusual ingredients have included matcha tea, bergamot and lavender. She said: "Also I'm looking out of that little snapshot at the end, where they do give you a mini preview of next weeks episode. "What we are trying to do is look out for the niche ingredients but also really over compensate on the stuff that we know is going to sell." This week will be a first for The Great British Bake Off, with the introduction of Batter Week. Nine bakers currently remain in the competition, which is now into its 7th series.
