Newsday

The Saudi-led airstrikes in Yemen are trying to restore the internationally recognised government ousted by Houthi rebels in 2014. The coalition says it does not target civilians in its campaign, but its strikes have hit schools, hospitals and private homes. The UN says the fighting has left 6,600 people dead since March 2015 and at least three million Yemenis have also been displaced. Ten year old Yara, who lives in the rebel controlled capital Sanaa, has made an appeal on social media for the campaign to stop. She told Newsday what life is like for her. (Picture: Yara in Sanaa)
