The symbolism of using women for terror attacks

Newsday

Available for over a year

It's not a new phenomenon but in recent months there have been a growing number of cases of women taking part in or suspected of being involved in attacks for Boko Haram in Nigeria, Al Shabab in Kenya and so-called Islamic State in France. Dalia Ghanem-Yazbeck is an analyst at the Carnegie Middle East Centre. She told Newsday's Tom Hagler about her new research on radicalisation called "the female face of Jihadism".
