Why are Londoners voting in this Siberian city's election?

Newsday

Available for over a year

Russia will hold elections on Sunday to determine 450 seats in the Lower House, the Duma. A change to the law has permitted more parties to take part and even allowed individual candidates to stand for election. It also means that expat communities abroad are assigned to certain region within the country where their vote will count. Those living in London, like Olga Ivshina from the Â鶹Éç's Russian Service, will be able to vote for candidates in the city of Tomsk. (Picture: The town centre in Tomsk. Credit: Google)
