Pioneering treatment for children with TB

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

A new pill specifically designed to treat tuberculosis in children has been launched in Kenya - a world first. Until now children have been treated with adult tablets which have been split and crushed so that they can be swallowed more easily. Â鶹Éç Africa's Health Correspondent Anne Soy went to Majengo slum in Nairobi to see what difference the new drugs could make. (Picture: A mother preparing tuberculosis medicine for her daughter.
