Ince: England should play Rooney as a striker

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Former England international Paul Ince believes Wayne Rooney should be played as a striker for both club and country. Ince said: "We're talking about the greatest goalscorer for England and Manchester United, he has to play up front. "He's not a midfield player, he doesn't track people, he doesn't tackle and when he does tackle he gives fouls away." Rooney, who is currently England's captain, started on the bench in their latest World Cup Qualifier against Solvenia. England drew the game 0-0 and their next match will be against Scotland at Wembley on 11th November. This clip is originally from 5 live Sport on 16th October 2016.
