Gay Cake verdict: 'no one's rights were impinged in the Christian faith.... Bring me forward one and I will make them a cake'
Any Questions?Available for over a year
Nuala McKeever and Baroness Nuala O'Loan respond to the Asher's Gay Cake verdict. Two years ago, the Christian owners of a Northern Irish bakery refused to make a cake iced with the slogan: "Support Gay Marriage". Now they have lost their appeal against a ruling that their refusal to make the cake was discriminatory. Appeal court judges said that, under law, the bakers were not allowed to provide a service only to people who agreed with their religious beliefs.
