On 2 November 1936, the Â鶹Éç launched the very first high definition television service in the world. To coincide with the occasion, the Â鶹Éç has launched a new microsite with archive material from the early experimental days of TV. David Hendy is professor of Media and Cultural History at the University of Sussex who has been working with Â鶹Éç History and Â鶹Éç Archives on the programmes marking the anniversary.
